Lucy plans a story after looking at a picture

After studying a painting by Willem Kalf, called "Still Life with Drinking Horn" the class planned a story to explain where the objects came from.

This is Lucy telling us her plan for her story.

In The Garden - A Five Sentence Challenge entry from Wesley Tyson

In the sunny days the black spotty ladybirds come to hide. In the Summer you see loads of pretty butterflies. In the Spring gloomy leaves turn to orange or red or brown to fall off trees. If you're lucky you can find some of these creatures I've told you about. So next time try to find some creatures I've told you about.

In The Garden - A Five Sentence Challenge entry from Lucy Armstrong

In Summer you can see butterflies coming out of their cocoons. Also you can see wonderful flowers growing and fruit growing in the trees. You can have ice lollies because it is so warm. You can go on holiday in Summer. Butterflies are pretty.

In The Garden - A Five Sentence Challenge entry from Paige Crozier

In the garden I can see flowers blooking up to the sky. Suddenly a rabbit appears from the bush in the distance. A streaming hot sun appears in the morning. The rooster goes and my clock goes too to wake me up. Barbeques you can have.

Class RB says "Thank You"

During this time of year it can sometimes be easily forgot that people do amazing things for us all year round. Unfortunately a thank you is sometimes forgotten as well. For that reason we have written people some thank you letters. The letters we wrote could be to absolutely anyone, here are a few examples.

Here's another letter written by Mason.

Dear Mrs English

I hope you are well. I am writing because of something that you have done for so long. I am writing because you have cooked dinner for so long. When it hasn't come to me I am feeling really hungry but when it does arrive I am really happy. Again thank you and happy new year.

Love from Mason

And finally a letter from Alfie.

Dear Mark the Caretaker

I hope you are well. I want to thank you because you make sure the dining room tables are up. You make me put my lunch on the table. It makes me feel like I'm at home, actually it is better than home. I hope you have a very good Christmas.

A Strange Thing Happened Last Night

On Thursday 8th December the children arrived in school to find that something very strange had happened.

Ahana Mitra from Class RB wrote a quick report on this strange occurance, this is what she wrote...

Opening
It started like this last night this metal thing fell from the sky and landed in the juniors field. Today I found it in the juniors playground but Mr Bird told me first. I think it is a unidentified flying object in the sky. It happened after the carols around the tree. It happened on Wednesday the 7th of December.

Our first thoughts were...
I first saw it on Thursday. I thought it had came from out of space. I think it is a ufo or a little bit of wing of a plane. It could also be a robot made out of metal and square bits have fallen off.

What is it?
It is actually a car bonet because Mr Davies and Andrew told us and they put it there. They did not tell us in the first place because they wanted it to be a little bit of a joke.

How did it get there
Mr Davies and Andrew from Class RA put it there.

What should we do next?
We should tell Mrs Tyler the head teacher.
